Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer are the five faces behind this hugely successful 1970s/80s hard rock band. Aerosmith’s first album debuted in 1972. While this first album didn’t track so great, their second debut album, Get Your Wings On, became the first of their many multi platinum albums. The group encountered huge success in the 70s until drugs and alcohol almost ended the band’s career. Their consistent drug and alcohol abuse led to a big decline in music production and popularity. In 1987, after many years of treatment, the group came back stronger and better than before with their hit album Permanent Vacation which included songs that topped MTV and Billboard charts. Aerosmith lost popularity in the mid 90s as did many 80s groups due to a change in popular style. However the band ended up recording their only number one hit single in the movie Armageddon in 1998. Their song, ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ ended up being their most successful song of their entire career. To this day Aerosmith is still together and touring.
