Albert Pujols, who currently plays first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, has become the third-youngest player in MLB history to reach the 400 home run mark. The historic homer came off of a fastball pitch from Jordan Zimmerman during a Thursday night game against the Washington Nationals. Unfortunately, Pujols and the Cardinals lost that game, and Pujols sprained his ankle in the process. But don’t let that take anything away from Pujols’ amazing achievement. Only Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr. have reached that milestone at a younger age. A World Series champion, 3-time National League MVP, and 9-time All-Star selection, Pujols is probably used to achieving greatness by now. So what did Pujols have to say about hitting the 400-HR mark? It’s a special milestone,” he said, “but I don’t play for numbers.”

Fortunately for Albert Pujols fans, Hollywood Collectibles carries a great selection of Albert Pujols memorabilia. We invite you to celebrate this amazing milestone in the career of this MLB great with authentic Albert Pujols collectibles, including such things as signed photos, autographed baseballs, autographed jerseys, and more. Each of these great baseball memorabilia items comes with a certificate of authenticity and would make not only a great addition to a sports memorabilia collection but also a great gift for Albert Pujols fans.

Baseball legend Lou Piniella, better known by some fans as “Sweet Lou”, shocked Cubs fans and long-time Piniella fans on Sunday by officially retiring after 48 years in the MLB. Piniella had announced last month that he would be retiring at the end of this season, but he decided to call it quits sooner than expected because he wants to be with his sick mother. “My mom needs me home and that’s where I’m going,” said the 3-time World Series champion. “She hasn’t gotten any better… So the best thing is just to step down and go home and take care of my mother.” According to ESPN.com, the surprising announcement was made on Sunday morning in a team handout.

Born in 1943, Piniella made his MLB debut in 1964 playing for the Baltimore Orioles. He would also play for the Cleveland Indians, the Kansas City Royals, and the New York Yankees before retiring as a player in 1984. A noted hitter during his playing career, Piniella retired with a .291 batting average, 102 home runs, and 2 World Series titles to his name. As a manager for various MLB teams (including, most recently, the Chicago Cubs), Piniella won another World Series title and 3 Manager of the Year Awards. A true baseball great, Lou Piniella has enjoyed an illustrious MLB career that will not soon be forgotten.

Luckily for Lou Piniella fans, Hollywood Collectibles carries a great selection of Lou Piniella autographed memorabilia, including autographed baseballs, signed photos, autographed bats, signed magazines, and more. Each of these great sports memorabilia items comes with a certificate of authenticity and would make a great addition to just about any baseball memorabilia collection. Basketball legend Michael Jordan will present Scottie Pippen at Pippen’s induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday. Pippen, who played alongside Jordan in the 1990’s Bulls lineup that won 6 NBA Finals titles, said on the Bulls website, “”I can’t think of a better person to do it. Michael is someone I shared my career with, accomplishing most of what I have accomplished thus far. He was a great teammate, teacher and admirer. I’m excited to have an opportunity to be the first person that he has presented into the Hall of Fame. I figure if anyone deserves to be on the stage with me, it’s him.” Like Jordan, Pippen is a 6-time NBA Finals champion. He is also a 7-time NBA All-Star, a 2-time Olympic Gold medalist, and a member of the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time team. “It’s a very exciting week for me, and I’m ready to embrace it all,” said Pippen. “It signifies closing the book on my playing career, so I want to take a deep breath, cherish it, and be thankful.”

With his 2,874th career hit on Sunday, New York Yankees great Derek Jeter surpassed baseball legend Babe Ruth in career hits. The historic hit came from an RBI single during the second inning of a 7-2 Yankees defeat of the Boston Red Sox. Jeter, who acknowledged all the excitement with a simple tip of the helmet, now ranks 39th on the all-time list of MLB career hit leaders. “Obviously Babe Ruth means a lot to baseball, especially to this organization, so anytime you get a chance to pass him in anything it’s special,” said Jeter. “It’s not like it was a goal of mine because I was unaware of it but it feels good once you accomplish it.” A 5-time World Series champion, World Series MVP, and 11-time All-Star, Jeter is no stranger to amazing levels of success. This latest record is icing on the cake of what is already a great MLB career.

Would you like to own Derek Jeter autographed memorabilia? With over two decades of experience in the sports memorabilia industry, Hollywood Collectibles offers an expansive inventory of authentic baseball memorabilia, which includes such things as autographed baseballs, signed baseball cards, and autographed bats. Brett Favre Might Not Retire

Just a day after multiple reports suggested the Brett Favre might be retiring yet again, new reports are telling us a different story. According to ESPN.com, Favre says that he never sent text messages to Minnesota Vikings teammates or team officials indicating that he would be retiring. Furthermore, Favre says that he will play next season if he heals from an ankle surgery that he received in May. Does this mean that Brett has flip-flopped yet again on his retirement? Not exactly. If Favre never really sent any text messages or gave any other indication that he would be retiring, then there is no flip-flopping involved. Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said on Tuesday that Favre “told a couple guys on our team he’s going to retire,” but Favre denies that anything like this happened. This seems to be more a case of contradictory stories than of flip-flopping. In any case, we will still have to wait and see if Favre will indeed play this upcoming season.

Would you like to own an authentic piece of Brett Favre autographed memorabilia like a Brett Favre autographed photo or a Brett Favre signed jersey? Brett Favre to Retire… Again?

Brett Favre, the fourty-year old legendary NFL quarterback, may be finally calling it quits. According to multiple reports, the 3-time NFL MVP has told members of the Minnesota Vikings (the team with which he played during the 2009 season) that he will not be returning to play next season, citing wear and tear on his body as the reason. But it is no secret that Favre is like the boy who cried retirement; he has already retired and returned from retirement twice. What reason is there to think, even if the recent reports are true, that Favre will not decide to change his mind yet again in a few months? Well, for one, Favre has reportedly not recovered from ankle surgery as well as he had hoped. There is also the fact that Favre turns 41 in a couple of months. Then again, this 5-time NFC Player of the Year had one of his best seasons last year, achieving career bests in both completion percentage and quarterback rating. In any case, Brett Favre is already one of the greatest football players of all time. He is surely considered by many to be the best quarterback of all time, and with good reason. A Super Bowl champion, 3-time MVP, and 11-time Pro Bowl selection, Favre has inscribed his name very firmly into the pages of football history. The only question that remains for now is, can he inscribe it even deeper?

Hollywood Collectibles proudly offers a great selection of autographed Brett Favre memorabilia, including such things as autographed jerseys, football cards, signed mini helmets, and autographed photos. We also offer football memorabilia from each of the teams that he has played for, including Atlanta Falcons memorabilia, Green Bay Packers memorabilia, New York Jets memorabilia, and Minnesota Vikings memorabilia. It was such a fun trip, I would recommend it to anyone,” wrote Vasquez on her official website. “From fishing to ziplining, there was so much to do. The food there is incredible, which is why I’m back in the gym BIG TIME..LOL!” Appropriately enough, LaLa posted a picture of 3-time NBA All-Star “Melo” holding two fishes and a picture of herself ziplining. Thirty-four year old golfing great Tiger Woods is still the highest-paid American athlete, according to a recent analysis by Sports Illustrated. Despite having been bombarded by the media for months because of his highly publicized marital infidelity, Woods is still earning above $90 million per year. Woods lost various high-profile endorsements earlier this year, including that of Gatorade, because of all the negative media attention that surrounded him. Because of his lost sponsorships, he is down $22 million from last year, but he still ranks above such athletes as Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. A 14-time Majors champion , Woods has been ranked as the World’s number 1 golfer since June of 2005. He is the all-time leader in most accumulated weeks ranked at Number 1, with 609. He is undeniably one of the most accomplished athletes in the world, and he currently seems to be returning to top form. So it is not too surprising that he is still the highest-earning American athlete.

Your one-stop shop for all Tiger Woods memorabilia, Hollywood Collectibles offers a great selection of Tiger Woods autographs, signed Tiger Woods photos, and other Tiger Woods memorabilia. With autographed Tiger Woods memorabilia, you can celebrate the career of one of the greatest American athletes of all time.
