The management on both sides of a potential Pacquiao-Mayweather fight had agreed on the terms of the match-up. All that was left was for undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. to sign off on the deal by an early Saturday deadline. If he gave the O.K., the two greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the world would battle each other on November 13 in what could have been the richest fight in boxing history. So what happened when that deadline was reached? Nothing. According to a report from the Associated Press, Mayweather and his camp let the deadline pass with no word on whether Mayweather intended to sign off on the fight of the decade. Mayweather, who was in Miami this weekend as a guest at Alonzo Mourning’s Summer Groove Event, said, “I’m not interested in rushing to do anything. I’m not really thinking about boxing right now. I’m just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I’m just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation.” Pacquiao, apparently eager to fight, said that he will fight on November 13 for sure, regardless of who is opponent will be.

According to Manny Pacquaio’s chief financial advisor, Michael Koncz, the Filipino boxing champ will be entering the ring in November for his next fight. Although Pacquaio’s opponent has not yet been chosen, two dates have already been reserved for the fight at the Cowboys stadium in Texas, November 6th and November 13th. Of course, everyone is hoping for a match-up against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr., who recently recorded his 41st straight win by defeating Shane Mosley in Las Vegas. Pacquiao and Mayweather were in the middle of negotiations for a fight earlier this year, but the plans never materializes because Pacquiao refused to submit to Mayweather’s demand for Olympic-style drug testing. According to Koncz, “If Mayweather wants to fight Manny, then no problem, provided he doesn’t try to bully us into terms and conditions.” I guess we will have to wait to see if either boxer will submit to the will of the other, because that seems to be the only way that this long-awaited match-up will happen in November — or ever, for that matter.
