Lorenzen Wright Found Dead

Hollywood Collectibles is sad to report that former NBA player Lorenzen Wright has been found dead at the age of 34. Wright, who was missing for 10 days, was last seen on July 18 when he was expected to take a flight out of town. His family filed a missing person report on July 22nd. On the 28th, Wright’s body was found in a wooded area in Memphis, Tennessee. Wright played for various NBA teams from 1996 to 2009, including the LA Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wright’s family said in a statement, “Lorenzen’s family has come together to mourn his loss and honor his legacy. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers and condolences as they are comforting at this very difficult time. Additionally, we ask that you please respect our privacy as we try to cope with his sudden loss.” Penny Hardaway, another former NBA star, said, “I cried. The emotions hit me immediately. It’s just sad because we lost a good person and a brother.”

Blake Griffin’s huge injury

basketballOn Monday night the Los Angeles Clippers announced that Blake Griffin has broken his left kneecap.  This injury could sideline Griffin for up to six weeks.   The No. 1 overall draft pick is known for his outstanding stats averaging 13.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.  The injury took place during a game against New Orleans on Friday.   At  Hollywood Collectibles we wish Griffin a fast and successful recovery.
