About the Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional football team currently in the North Division of the AFC. The team was established in 1968 as part of the American Football League and joined the NFL when it merged with the AFL in 1970. The Bengals immediately became rivals with fellow Ohio team the Cleveland Browns. The rivalry between these two teams is still ongoing to this day and has produced two of the eight highest scoring games in the history of the NFL. The Bengals currently lead the series 38-35. A famous rivalry also exists between the Bengals and the Steelers, who are in the same division. Despite having no championships, the Bengals are a very successful franchise, having made the playoffs nine times and possessing seven division championships as well as two conference championships. Many great players have played for the Cincinnati Bengals, including two Hall of Famers. The franchise has innovated several offensive and defensive strategies, including the “no-huddle offense,” the “West Coast Offense,” and the “zone blitz.”
